Dr. John Paul Micha

Dr. Micha completed medical school, a 4 year Obstetrics / Gynecologic residency and spent one year on the full time facility at Cornell University Medical College / New York Hospital. Following that, he completed a gynecologic oncology fellowship at the University of California, Irvine. He has been a clinical professor at UCLA, UCI, and USC. He also served as acting director of gynecologic oncology at City of Hope. In 1985 he joined the staff at Hoag Hospital. He is the founder of Gynecologic Oncology Associates, the largest affiliated group of gynecologic oncologists in the country. He has received multiple awards, including “Fellow of the year” at UCI department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Best Doctors in America, and Best Doctors in Orange County. He is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Women’s Cancer Research Foundation.

Dr. John G. West

After graduation from medical school and completing a six-year surgery residency at the University of California in San Francisco, Dr. John West moved to Orange County where he opened a surgical practice in 1973 and joined the staff at St. Joseph ‘s Hospital. He went on to establish the nation’s first organized system of trauma care, which has subsequently become the model for the nation. His next goal was to create an integrated breast care program that was similar in concept to the trauma system. After a year of preparation he, along with his team, organized a comprehensive breast cancer treatment team, and in 1988 they open the doors to their new Breast Care Center in Orange. Dr. John West’s expertise and leadership make him a tremendous addition to the WCRF Board of Directors.
